I've been everywhere, man - Like this iconic Johnny Cash song, PHYTECers have been busy traveling over the last month making in person (and virtual) connections with each other. Last month, we launched the PHYTEC Around the World initiative to share diverse perspectives, innovative projects, and culture insights through pictures and stories. We continue that tradition with September highlights from PHYTEC China, PHYTEC France, and PHYTEC America (+ Phytools).

If you have ideas to share for next month send them to your local marketing contact or email marketing@phytec.com. We also would love to hear from you in #phytec-around-the-world channel in Mattermost.

PHYTEC China

Wedding Bells in Inner Mongolia

Two of our beloved PHYTEC colleagues have tied the knot! Zhaojie(Danny) Wang & Arohenn were married on September 28th in beautiful traditional dress surrounded by loved ones and a few special guests (wink)  Congratulations to the bride and groom!

PHYTEC France

Our Gracious Global Sales Summit 2024 Hosts

Another Global Sales Summit is in the books! Special thank you to Sylvie Merle for sending these lovely photos. While much was discussed about our industry and how PHYTEC can continue to lead at the forefront, the teams also made time for fun! On one of their free days, the teams ventured to Normandy, where they walked the historic D-Day landing beaches, paid their respects at the American cemetery, and wrapped up the day savoring local farm delicacies like pommeau, cider, and traditional Norman crepes. Au revoir for now, France!

Phytools

Phytools in Paris

Following the Global Sales Summit in France Rene from Phytools stopped by Paris. It was cool to see some of the structures from the Olympics but he also took this picture… Do you recognize the courtyard pictured from a popular Netflix show?

PHYTEC America

Teal Tumbler Triplets (say that 5x fast)

What can we say, we love teal. Check out Madelyn Treloar , Dezirae Archuleta and Lacey Redinger  with matching PHYTEC Teal tumblers. The Support and Marketing teams at PHYTEC America have a close relationship… is this proof of how in sync they are????

It's a SUPER Small World

Have you ever tried reworking an 0201 component? Our hardware and test development teams (Christyan Brown , Douglas Smith  and Alex Gibson ) learned how by reworking phyCORE-RT1170 (PCM-073) SOMs. There is definitely a correlation between the size of the SOM and the components on the SOM, in this case the phyCORE-RT1170 is SMALL and the components that make up it are VERY SMALL! For a visual think about the skill it would take to place a single grain of salt with tweezers. THEN to also heat it up enough to melt the solder, all without anything moving. Alex Gibson is one of our new Test Developers at PHYTEC America and he got a crash course in microscopic reworks.

Celebrity Shot Layout

Did you know Spencer Black used to be a Layout Engineer? When you are trying to figure out a difficult puzzle it is sometimes nice to have another set of eyes. That is what is happening here with Nicole Macias and Spencer working out some options for laying down a trace without impacting the work (tearing up) that was already done. I believe they are working on a new SOM development projects, phyCORE-AM62Px.

We Might Have a Sugar Problem...

If you have ever been to PHYTEC America you might already be aware of the steady flow of treats at the Bainbridge Island office. Last month we enjoyed some decadent homemade treats including Tran’s from scratch macarons, John Ma ’s chocolate and vanilla cakes, and a black sesame layer cake for Lacey’s birthday.

But We Try To Be Healthy!

Hoan Nguyen organizes a weekly hike at lunch on Tuesday to burn off the dessert calories. It is nice to get a screen break and go outside to explore the parks and trails around the Bainbridge Island office.

Are You Ready For Some Football?

PHYTEC does a fantasy football league for American football every year. This year we are playing a survivor league where you pick a team to win each week. Out of 19 participants, 10 are out of the game at the close of week 4. We had a fun marketing campaign where the phyCORE-i.MX8MP was picking Madelyn Treloar 's teams. Last week it actually told her to pick the Baltimore Ravens (over the Bills) but that was a risky pick and she asked again and got the Jets (over the Broncos) as her pick instead. As fate would have it the Ravens won and the Jets lost… Maddy is now out and admits that she should listen to the phyCORE-i.MX8MP next time.

Pickleball Production Project

If you attended Global Sales Summit 2024 you may now be the owner of a high quality custom made PHYTEC pickleball paddle. Lacey Redinger lead the charge on this wood working project. PHYTEC employees volunteered a weekend to join Lacey in Craig Day 's shop… I mean Maker Space… and create 40 custom pickleball paddles. In this project we used some of Craig’s toys like the CNC, wood router, and laser cutter. Craig volunteers a lot of his personal time and resources to make things for PHYTEC America like demo housing, custom acrylic backers and it was a cool experience to get to use the tools and experience the process of an idea to final product.

Read more about the project here: Global Sales Summit 2024

phyBABYTM

Serah Peterson 's 4-month-old, Calvin Storms, dropped by the office for the first time. She put him right to work at her desk and it might just be a matter of time until he starts his first embedded systems project. He took a liking to the phyCORE-i.MX8M Mini and the phyCORE-RT1170… perhaps because they are baby sized?

Play That Funky Music

Thank you all for participating in last month's topic of conversation - What's your favorite song right now? We got plenty of variety in answers woman dancing
